On 7th March, 2017 in Warsaw the Agricultural Property Agency (ANR), a member of AEAIR, organized a workshop titled “Legal regulations regarding private agricultural land market in Poland – applied after 30 April, 2016”. This event gathered AEIAR representatives and members of other European institutions – FN Safer (France), BLG and Ministry of Agriculture (Germany), VLM (Belgium) and Ministry of Agriculture in Lithuania. The subject of workshop focused on changes in Polish law regulating private agricultural land market, which effect from 30th April 2016. New regulations put the main accent on acquiring agricultural land by individual farmers who create or enlarge their family-run farms and using this land for agricultural purposes. Participants also exchange their knowledge and experiences on land market regulations functioning in other European coutries. They all agreed that overall frames of agricultural land protection and turnover should be elaborated on European level, whereas policies of food security and specific conditions on regions, culture, agricultural heritage and family-run farms protection are responsibility of each country.
